A dynamic new official poster for the inaugural Winter Masters 500 – Europe’s only winter endurance race for GT cars – at Portimao on 2-3 February has been pubished.
Highlighting the typical welcoming winter conditions in Portugal which makes the Winter Masters 500 an ideal opportunity to benefit from 11 hours of track time, the poster captures the excitement of GT competition on the undulating Portimao track.
The two-day event will be open to a wide range of GT cars, including GT3, GT4 and GT Cup machinery (prototypes and touring cars are not permitted) while drivers with at least a national licence will be allowed to compete.
The Winter Masters 500 name references the race's 500-mile length (805km), or a maximum of six hours racing, around the renowned circuit, host to the 2020 Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix.
Practice will begin on Friday 2 February before qualifying and the race, starting at midday, on the following day.
The 2024 race is the first in a multi-year plan from Driving Force Events, promoter of the Gulf 12 Hours, to establish a new winter GT racing headline event in Europe and a regular date one week after the 24 Hours of Daytona is foreseen.
